Sometimes bad weather or other unplanned emergencies cause school to be delayed, canceled, or dismissed early. We wanted to remind you how you can find that information for the Bessemer Area Schools. We notify the following radio stations: WJMS/WIMI and WUPM, and TV stations: FOX 21, TV6 (Marquette-webpage-www.uppermichiganssource.com/closings), and KBJR (Duluth-www.northlandsnewscenter.com). We also send out an automated call from School Reach that will usually show up on caller ID as Bessemer Area Schools. We will also try to update our Facebook page (Bessemer Area Schools) and the school web page (www.bessemer.k12.mi.us). If you do NOT receive the automated call, it is usually because of one of the following reasons:

1. We do not have an updated telephone number for you.

2. You have our telephone number blocked in your system.

3. You do not have a voicemail set up.

4. You have a long pause before you start speaking on your voicemail message.

To update your contact information, please call the school to update (WES- 906-663-4515, opt. 0 or ADJ- 906-667-0413, opt 0) or send a note to school with your child. REMINDER- IF SCHOOL IS CANCELED, ALL ACTIVITIES ARE ALSO CANCELED, INCLUDING GAMES AND/OR PRACTICES IN BOTH SCHOOL BUILDINGS, UNLESS APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION. NOBODY EXCEPT STAFF IS ALLOWED IN THE SCHOOL BUILDINGS ON CANCELED DAYS WITHOUT APPROVAL.
