Miss Jarvela's 6th grade class was the winner of our school wide attendance challenge. As such, they won a pizza party. A big "Thank You" to Tina Glatczak and the MDHSS!
Driver's Ed update
It's always a good day when Enni Gregas comes for a visit! A representative for the Iron Belle Trail, Enni taught Mrs. Nyquist's 3rd grade students how important the trail is to all of us. Students, now "Friend of the Iron Belle Trail", did their part in cleaning up garbage.
Instead of a traditional book report, students in Ms. Jarvela’s 6th grade were asked to create a “Book in a Box”. They could choose any book of their choice and had to include 8 items that related to the book and a summary of the novel. The 6th graders excelled in their creativity of this final project and showcasing their individuality!
After having to cancel last week due to snow (yes, snow in May!!), students in Mrs. Carver's 4th grade class had perfect weather for their visit to the Tuomey Nursery. A big "Thank you" to Shanelle Saunders, Conservation Education Coordinator.
The Bessemer Area School District is pleased to host a presentation for area parents/guardians on the warning signs of suicide in youth. The event will take place at A.D. Johnston Junior/Senior High School on Tuesday, May 16th, at 6:30 pm.
The presentation is being put on by a coalition of various community agencies including the Department of Health and Human Services, Community Mental Health, and local law enforcement. There will be raffle prizes and free childcare is available. Please consider attending this informative event as you will be able to hear from the different supports that are available in our community. The group hopes to provide education and resources for parents/guardians in order to better serve our area's youth!

Sixth grade students had an absolute blast at the Northern Lakes Impact Center in Rhinelander yesterday! Activities included: outdoor survival, zip line, high ropes course, archery, and riflery.
Students in Mrs. Nyquist's 3rd grade class have been growing tomato plants to learn about pollination for their Bee Cause.
Such a fun and educational project for Mrs. Greenough's first grade students - Candeling Chicken & Duck Eggs.
We will be closed on Monday, 5/1/23 due to continuing inclement weather.
