Students in Miss DiGiorgio’s 2nd grade class participated in a “Hermit Crab Handling and Care” workshop hosted by Miss Jarvela’s 6th grade class. 2nd grade students were able to hold the 6th grade class pets-hermit crabs. They were also given the opportunity to feed African dwarf frogs. The 6th grade students were able to work on their public speaking skills while presenting their knowledge on hermit crabs and African dwarf frogs.

Mrs. Toth's 2nd grade made posters during a Solid Start science lesson. In small groups they researched ways humans can prevent wind and water from changing the Earth. They created posters of different solutions such as levees, ditches, trees and plants, and seawall. Their posters included and explanation, a picture, materials, benefits and challenges.
